OK, so lately it seems that I have been in cardstock heaven. My stamp room looks like cardstock and rubber stamps have exploded all over the place. Good reason for that, I have been working on some designs for a wedding that I have been asked to do. I have had all sorts of paper thrown everywhere trying to come up with the right design for the bride and groom. I have come up with something that the bride loves. So now all those other designs got pushed to the side and piled up in the corner with all the stamp sets that I used. I will have to clean it all up and make room for the 93 invitations that I will be starting on soon (well Save the Date cards will be worked on this month). But before I get into cardstock frenzy I had some baking that I needed to do. I had two different events that I am baking for that are on the same day. And of course I procrastinated on the baking until the last minute. And when I mean last minute, the cake was baked this morning and decorated this evening after dinner. Right after I got the cake done I started on 36 cupcakes. Those will just get decorated in the morning.
The cake is a yellow cake with buttercream icing. It is a Director's clapboard for my niece who turned 15 this past week. She is having some friends over tomorrow for movie and popcorn and other junk food that goes along with it. She asked me to make this particular cake for her. I could not say no to her. :-)
The cupcakes are for a baby shower for a really good friend of mine. She asked for red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing. All I can say is that she has great taste as red velvet is my all time favorite cake. Pictures of these will come since as I am sitting here typing they are still in the oven. (see procrastinating again as it is already after 10:00 at night.)
Well hope you enjoy the picture of Karen's cake. Until next time.
Keep Baking and Stamping.
