Where does the time go?

WOW. Where does the time go? One blink and the summer is over and school has started back. My kidos have been back in school for 3 weeks now and I gone back to work. So I apologize for neglecting my site. I need to work on making time for my blog. I have been so busy with the kids activities and my own that I have not had time to sit down and write. Ally has started back with all of her after school activities including soccer and Girl Scouts in the evenings. Andrew is still just doing soccer and Cub Scouts right now. Next year he gets to take advantage of the after school fun.
I have been able to get some stamping done here and there. I have taken on the task with our school in making Birthday cards for all the teachers and staff this year. So that is one way to make me stamp. :-). Baking has kept me busy especially last week. I was baking cupcakes 3 out of the 5 days and then a Birthday cake for my niece on this past Saturday. Man did my kitchen smell good all week long. I love baking and I am so happy that I am doing more of it. I got another order for a cake for next Friday.
But what I love the most is when I can combine my love of baking and stamping together. And that is exactly what I have coming up. I am making First Birthday invitations for a little cutie and her Birthday cake in October. What else could I ask for, I get to stamp and create on paper and then to bake and create on cake.
I do have pictures of the cake for my niece Cortni, but I did not take pics of the cupcakes. I will post pics of the cards that I have done too, but I still have to take them.
Until then.

Happy Stampin

Grandma's 90th Birthday Cake

So, I wanted to share with you one of my cakes that I have done. This one was for my husband's grandmother's 90th Birthday last year. We threw her a party after all 90 is something to celebrate. This is a 3 tier 2 layers on each tier yellow cake. Butter-cream basket weave design on the sides. The top layer has a cornelli lace design. I think I made about 50 roses for this cake. My hand was sore after that. There are about 40 on the cake. Grandma loved the cake. This size cake will feed at least 50 people with very generous size cuts. We did have cake left over but who ever complains about that.

I will post more as I get the pictures on my computer organized.

Getting ready to party

Well last night we had the big Birthday dinner out at Ally's restaurant of her choice. And of course she picked Texas Roadhouse. YUM. We let each of them pick a place to go and eat for their birthday dinner with the family. We had my parents, (Nana and Papa) and my sister Terri (TT) and her daughter Karen. It was a great night out. We even got the staff to come and sing Happy Birthday to her.
Today was the day to get ready for her party tomorrow with all of her friends. I am just hoping that the weather is just as nice as it was today since we are having her party at a local park. I worked on her cake today. For something so simple it took me 2 1/2 hours to decorate it. She wanted a sports theme this year. She has played soccer since she was 4, so instead of just sticking to one sport, we added all four of them. I had to add the pink trim to it just to girly it up. This is a long way off from playing with My Little Ponies. Now it is all about sports.
Well, I am hoping for fun and wonderful weather tomorrow.
I have made a few cards in the past few weeks, so I will post them later.
Have a great night.
