DEAL DAY

Happy Tuesday.
It is a rainy yucky Tuesday here in my neck of the woods but I am not going to let that stop me from having a creative day. That just means that I get to stay inside all day and play.
But first I need to check out the deals for this week. There are some great ones this week.

Now is your chance to grab some great punches. The card kit would make a great gift for someone. With Christmas not too far off I think I am going to grab a few of those and give out as gifts.
The vintage buttons would add a nice touch to any project as well.

Enjoy your Tuesday. I know I will not let the weather here get me down. I am off to do some creating in my stamp room.

85 days....

What is that you say? 85 days..... Yeap that is right. There are only 85 days left till Christmas.
I know it is crazy to start the countdown now. Come on Halloween is not even here yet. Then we have Thanksgiving and then finally Christmas. But if you are like me and make your Christmas cards and other handmade goodies to give as gifts, 85 days is not really that much time.
I have several items that I want to make this year for the holidays. I started one project last week. I am making my own pure vanilla extract. So far I must say that the color is perfect and it smells really good. So by the time it is done "brewing" it is going to be delish in my cookies, cakes, and fudge.
I am almost done with my cards as well. But taking another look at the Holiday Catalog from Stampin' Up!, I found another set that I need to have and use.

Just look at this bear. How cute is it? I think that it will make a great addition to my stack.
Take a look at the catalog to the right and see for yourself all the fun items that are must have this season. This set will be cute for tags as well.
No- I am not skipping over Halloween and Thanksgiving. I am working on Halloween now and have a few ideas for Thanksgiving.

I will post pics of the Halloween projects when they are done.

Until then....

Trying something new

Good morning. I do not have a card for you today but I do want to share something that I have always wanted to do and finally trying it.
For those who know me- know that I love to bake. I have been know to decorate a cake or two. :-) Ok so like many many cakes. Weddings, Birthdays, Showers, anything really. So when I make my buttercream icing I use vanilla extract to flavor it. I really dislike using artificial vanilla but the real stuff is so expensive. I have read in so many places on how to make your own.
So that is what I did yesterday. It is a long process so I can not use it right now as it has to sit for several months but I know that it will be oh so worth it. Just think that by the time is is nice and vanillay (yes I know that is not a word but it works here) :-)    It will be Christmas time and that means fudge and cookies and all the yummy goodies that I make.

It was so simple to make. There are only two ingredients, vanilla bean pods and vodka. The only thing I had to buy was the vanilla bean pods since I had the vodka on hand. Since this was my first time making it, I only bought 2 and used about a cup of vodka. That is it. So for about 6.00 I will have about 8 oz of vanilla extract. How simple is that. Oh and I did get the looks from both of my kids when they saw me get the Vodka down at 3:00 in the afternoon.
I split open the beans and cut them up so they would fit in the jar and poured in the vodka. That is it. A little more than 12 hours it has already started turning brown. You do need to keep it in a dry dark place. I did open it this morning and it smells so good. I can not wait till December to really smell it.
More cards will come tomorrow. But I had to share this with you.
Have a great day and keep creating.

Good morning my stamping friends. Today is Tuesday and that means it is DEAL Day....

Check out this week's Stampin' Up! deals.

You will not want to pass these up.

Check out the Gold Glitz Dazzling Details for 1.88. All I can think about is Christmas cards with this. Adding just a touch of sparkling gold to the cards. WOW...

The paper piercing packs would also add some great detail to the cards.
It really is the little extras on the cards that can make a difference from an ordinary card to a WOW card.

Just remember that these deals are only good for this week.
Click here to shop now from my online store. While you are there, don't forget to check out the clearance rack and new arrivals.

Monday, September 22, 2014

Oh those Monday Blues are starting to click in and it is only 6:30 in the morning. I am sitting in the peace and quiet with my cup of coffee thinking about what all I need to do today. I have a list of chores that I could do but that is no fun at all. Grocery shopping got done yesterday so I can cross that off my list. :-)

So- I will push all of the yucky chores to the side today and I will do some fun chores.

I think that playing in my stamp office is what has been pushed to the top of the list. I will have to clean up some from my last round of fun but that is OK.

Today I will be working on Halloween treat holders. I will be packaging up some to put in my retail box that I have set up at our local coffee shop, Latte La Vie.

Planning my next class will be on my list as well. I have been holding class every month since July on Christmas cards. So much easier when you do 10 at a time instead of waiting till the end of November to do all of them. I counted my stash the other day and I have just about 60 right now. ( I had some left over from last year).
This year I am going to donate any of my extras to our Mercy Ministry at my Church.

Check my calendar soon for the next class. The month of October we will be working on Christmas tags. I never seem to have any of those when I need them. And the ones that I do find in my Christmas stash are just plain stickers. This year I want to decorate my gifts as well.

Have a great Monday and don't forget to check back tomorrow for the weekly deals.

White Christmas!

White Christmas??
Wait - I am in Florida, There is no such thing as a white Christmas here. Unless I create one myself. And that is what I did. In card form that is.

Using the new White Christmas stamp set from the 2014 Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog. This set has to be one of my favorite sets from the holiday catalog.

The 13 piece photopolymer set 135767 is a great deal at 15.95.

I used the snowman on this card, but the others are just as cute. Create your own Winter Wonderland scene.

Add some texture to the card with the new star embossing folder.

The Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing folder 135817 for 7.95.

I love using the texture folders to add depth to the cards.

This card will be featured in a Christmas Class that I am teaching this week. If you are local and want to come out and create this little beauty just let me know. You will create 10 cards with envelopes and be set to send them out to family and friends come December. Check the calendar on the side for details of the class.

Love is in the AIR

Love is in the air.

My friend's daughter is getting married in a few weeks and we had a bridal shower for her. So I had to make her a card right. Well, I hate to say it but this girl did not have any wedding sets. WOW right. Thank goodness for MDS (My Digital Software). I was able to go to my store online and check out the digital sets and I found the perfect set.

The best thing about MDS is that the sets do not retire. I like that idea. Using MDS you can choose any color you want your image to be- just like stamping with ink and rubber. And as an added bonus you can change the size of your image. I like that idea as I can change it to fit what ever project I am working on.

On this card I used Love & Laughter set. This was a set from a couple years ago which I liked but for some reason I never did buy. The wedding colors are teal and coral. So, I used Calypso Coral as the base and Taken with teal for the color of the dress. I printed the dress and the saying off on white card stock and cut it out and used dimensionals to make it pop on the card layer. I embossed the top layer with Pretty Print embossing folder. I added Dazzling Details to the dress to give it some sparkle.

I can not wait to share her special day.

Getting ready for Christmas

It is never to early in my opinion to get ready for Christmas. I start in July creating my Christmas cards. Doing 10 at a time makes it less stressful to get them all done on time.

This was our card class for August. I love this stamp set. This little beauty can be found in our New Holiday Catalog that will go live on August 28th.

I pulled my Aqua Painters out for this one and we had fun water coloring. I love to water color as you can go out of the lines and make it look like it was supposed to be that way. :-)  Look at the depth in color on the bird. You get that just by pushing the ink around with the Painter pen.

This is such a simple card to create and it only took an hour to do 10 from start to finish.

If you would like a Holiday Catalog just pop me an email and let me know. I will get one to you. The catalog is full of amazing stamp sets and accessories for holidays from Halloween to Christmas.
