When I saw this set in the new catalog, I knew I had to have it. I love everything about it. The flowers, leaves, butterflies, and that cute little bee. We are using this set in my club for the month of July.
This is a two-step stamp set. Two step stamping is where you use two or more coordinating images to create one. It usually consists of an outline image and then one that fills in the outline.
The flowers and leaves in the second card is two step. I used the same ink pad to create a variation in color. I stamped the outline in with the chosen color and for the fill in, I inked up the image and then stamped on a scrap paper to take off most of the ink. This gives the image a lighter tone using the same ink.
The friends card is using the Garden in Bloom set, English Garden Designer Series Paper, and the English Garden coordinating cardstock -(love that we now offer that package with the designer series paper packs). The butterfly outline and greeting was stamped with the Memento black in on vellum. Old Olive Baker's Twin was wrapped around the layers.
You're in my Thoughts is a simple one layer card that can be created in less than 15 minutes. How easy is that. Using the new THICK Whisper White cardstock as the base. YEAPERS - you read that right, Stampin' Up! now offers Whisper White in a nice thick 100-lb weight. This makes it perfect to use for bases.
For this card I used Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron, Delightful Dijon, and Memento Black inks, A Dozen Thoughts stamp set for the greeting, and Jewel Rhinestones as some added bling - (and to cover up an ink boo boo).
This card design I can see making a bunch of to have on hand and just leaving the greeting off. That way I can just stamp what I need when I need a card for whatever occasion that comes up.
Happy Creating
