Working or Playing?

Is it really work when you love what you are doing? I really can not call it work when I am in my office playing with stamp sets. So let us call it FUN Work.

So much is going on right now. My stamp office has exploded with creativeness (if that is a word) every where.

I just finished working on 125 Day of Thanks cards for my church to give out with Thanksgiving baskets next week.

I have started working on class projects for next month. I know a month early RIGHT!

I have decided not to wait until the week of the class to get everything all done. In fact I have several projects going on at the same time.

I am in the planning stages of putting together classes for online. More information will come when I get all the details ironed out

I have stepped outside of my little protective safe bubble and joined a group where I MUST complete a card every month and write up directions for it. This is going to help me in so many ways with in many different areas.

Please stay tuned for some great things happening here at Dailey Creations.

Holiday Catalog Retiring list

It will be sad to see the holiday catalog end on January 4, 2016. This catalog has been amazing. But with the catalog ending that also means that many of the items will no longer be available. Some will be gone forever even sooner.

To give everyone a heads up, Stampin’ Up! has released the Holiday Catalog Retiring list so you can pick up all those things on your list prior to them being retired or sold out.

Just be aware, the products on the retiring list will be while supplies last from today through January 4th, so once a products sells out it will not be restocked.

You will want to shop now if you still have a wish list for your Holiday crafts.

Got to love Halloween

Halloween seems to be one of the holidays that not too many cards get made for. I don't have as many Halloween sets as I do Christmas. But that is ok.

I did fall in love with this set out of our new Holiday catalog. This one can be used for many different seasons. I will start off with Halloween.

The embossing folder has so many possibilities that I can not wait to play more with it..

I sponged the embossing folder with some basic black and then embossed the grey cardstock. This gave the embossed image such a dramatic look. I thought it looked spooky. I used the new black doilies as spider webs.

I made two of these to send to some cute little kidos.

This was one of the cards that we did this month for club.

We all admitted that is was an OFF Saturday. We still had a great time. I have not laughed that hard in a long time. It was GREAT!

Garden in Bloom

When I saw this set in the new catalog, I knew I had to have it. I love everything about it. The flowers, leaves, butterflies, and that cute little bee. We are using this set in my club for the month of July.
This is a two-step stamp set. Two step stamping is where you use two or  more coordinating images to create one. It usually consists of an outline image and then one that fills in the outline.

The flowers and leaves in the second card is two step. I used the same ink pad to create a variation in color. I stamped the outline in with the chosen color and for the fill in, I inked up the image and then stamped on a scrap paper to take off most of the ink. This gives the image a lighter tone using the same ink.

The friends card is using the Garden in Bloom set, English Garden Designer Series Paper, and the English Garden coordinating cardstock -(love that we now offer that package with the designer series paper packs). The butterfly outline and greeting was stamped with the Memento black in on vellum. Old Olive Baker's Twin was wrapped around the layers.

You're in my Thoughts is a simple one layer card that can be created in less than 15 minutes. How easy is that. Using the new THICK Whisper White cardstock as the base. YEAPERS - you read that right, Stampin' Up! now offers Whisper White in a nice thick 100-lb weight. This makes it perfect to use for bases.
For this card I used Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron, Delightful Dijon, and Memento Black inks, A Dozen Thoughts stamp set for the greeting, and Jewel Rhinestones as some added bling - (and to cover up an ink boo boo).
This card design I can see making a bunch of to have on hand and just leaving the greeting off. That way I can just stamp what I need when I need a card for whatever occasion that comes up.

Fun with Journals

I created some journals to give out as gifts. These were so much fun to make. The first one I will admit did take me about 45 minutes to do- but hey it always take a longer time to do something for the first time right? After the first one, the rest were a breeze. I was able to make 2 of them in hour.

The notebook on the inside is your regular junior legal pad that you can pick up from any store. The ink pens are the barrel type ones that I cut some of the designer paper and rolled up in tube to match the journals.
I did not get a picture of the inside - but there are pockets on each side. The notebook fits into one of them, and the other one can be used to hold notes. These would make great gifts for anyone.
I will have some for sale soon as I am working on more as one of my summer projects.
I will post pics of the ones that I get done in the next week. I can also take orders for specialized ones.

This size will be sold for 3.00 each

What cute yummy puppies

To change things up a bit--lets talk about yummy cupcakes.

Who doesn't like cupcakes right? Well take a look at these adorable puppy dog cupcakes that I made last month.

The principal at my son's school retired this school year and we threw her a retirement party. She has a love for her fur babies so we did a puppy theme and collected donations for our local animal shelter.

I created about 100 of these fur babies. This was my first time making these and I had a blast making them. I loved the way they turned out and so did everyone else.

I love using my artistic side in both cards and food.

I have opened my baking side of Dailey Creations again so it is back up and cooking.
If you are interested in any cookies, cakes, or cupcakes- just let me know. I am learning new designs and techniques daily and I would love to create some yummy goodies for you.

Trio of cards

Here is a trio of cards that we made at our May Club date. With Graduation in June we did a Grad card, a card that could be used for Father's Day and Hello card.

The stamp sets can be found in the new 2015-16 catalog. The graduation cap is made from punches and the paper trimmer.

Retired items coming soon

Hello all-

I know it has been a while... I have been keeping busy with the kidos. Man- have they been keeping me busy.
I have been doing monthly card clubs and have been taking pictures of the wonderful creations once a month. I will post pictures of the projects soon. I am also in the process of taking pictures of the retired stamp sets that I have on hand that I am in the process of pulling from my stack of stamp sets. I think it is a good time for them to find a new home - one that will appreciate them and use them instead of letting them sit on a shelf unloved.

Stay tuned for pics and prices.

We have a new catalog out and man o man - there are some great new stamp sets. Contact me today if you want a new one so you can go nuts about it.

Until then

Construction continues...

In my last post, I mentioned that this blog was under construction... Well not only is the blog layout being changed but the Dailey Creation Room is being changed. Right now it is a HUGE mess.
I received some very nice large bookcases and I knew they were perfect for my room. They were just what I had been looking for to get all of my supplies out of boxes and drawers and out into the open so I could see what I had.
Well, I didn't really realize that I had this much!
WoW the anxiety really set in when I took everything out of the small dresser, boxes that were just sitting in corners, and the shelves of the smaller bookcase that I took out of the room. I was not sure on where to start. It took me a few hours to get started as I just sat there looking at this huge pile of art supplies.. (YEAH that is what I will call it)
But I eventually got started and I am still working on it. This past weekend was busy with the last of the soccer games for the season so I had a few breaks with the organization.
I can now see my floor and the pile is smaller. I will post another picture of the finish project when it is all done. My goal is to have it done soon as I want to get in and start creating.

Oh my..Look at all the goodies

And the shelves that will house all the goodies.

Until later my stamping friends...

To Clean or to Stamp

To Clean or to Stamp?
WOW that is a tough question to answer.
Why not do both. I have to be in the mood to clean, I mean to really clean and I was just not in that mood this past Friday. I really need to get that "spring fever" and clean every room in my house but it just has not happened it.
This past Friday, I started cleaning and just lost interest. So the next best thing to do was to stamp.
Thank You cards are always a need. My son's elementary school has our Spring Festival coming up and we have local businesses that donate items to the festival and to our teachers for Teacher's Appreciation Week. So, I decided to make some monogram cards for the school to send out. Our school is RideOut Elementary, So ROE for short.

The other set of Thank You was me playing around with one of my acrylic block and markers to make a cool color block background. I will be making more of these as they were super easy to make so making a large quantity would be fairly fast and easy to do.

The basic material to use can be found below. On the inks- I used a variety of inks and markers.

Club Treats

The Stampin' Up! Occasion Catalog has some wonderful new items in it that I have enjoyed playing with. The Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies is no exception.

With this little gem, I used up some old DSP that I had laying around and made treat bags for the ladies in my stamp club.

Inside each bag was chocolate. These were so easy to make and quick too. So, I will be making more of these and using up the rest of my old DSP for the teachers at my son's school for Teacher Appreciation week coming in May.

To get your hands on this gem of a die- click below on the image and it will take you to my online shop where you can shop 24/7.

Simple and Easy

Simple and Easy can sometimes be good. Ok, who am I kidding- It is always good when things are simple and easy. I sat down the other day and stamped. I just wanted some cards to add to my stock pile but didn't have enough time to really sit down and get inky dirty. So I went simple. I love how these turned out.

I used a combination of current and retired product from Stampin' Up!. Sassy Salutations is a great little set with greetings for most of your needs. From Merry Christmas, Thinking of You, Thank You, Congratulations, Feel Better, and Happy Birthday. The colors that I used really popped as well. Calypso Coral, Gumball Green, and Wisteria Wonder. I used the Blendabliites to color in the flowers from Happy Watercolor.

More to come in the next few days.

HELLO

Hello and Yes I know I have been Missing... It has been said that if you skip doing something a few times that it is hard to get back into the habit.. Well I have to say that is true. I skipped a few days of posting for various reasons and then BOOM!!!!!

Two months go by. I can not believe it.

Well I am back and trying to get back on track here.
I have been busy with kid stuff and other stuff but really that is no excuse. HA HA HA!

A club has started and that is great. Love getting together once a month and stamp with friends. (who doesn't right)
Well - look for me more often. I have lots to tell and I am busy getting all the posts ready. :-)

Until later (sooner this time-I promise)
